Engineer (Mobile)

What You Will Do:

  • Work with a dedicated and experienced team to port existing technology and gameplay to a mobile centric platform
  • Develop updated systems targeting the needs of mobile customers
  • Implement new features across a diverse codebase
  • Provide scheduling input and status updates for completion of assigned tasks, and gather updates from the team
  • Write clean, robust, readable, well-documented, and efficient code that can be easily understood by other team members
  • Demonstrate the assignment & technology flexibility required to assist adjacent teams in an agile team environment, and contribute as a leader to the processes
  • Plan and complete assignments with little direction from leadership while providing direction in many situations
  • Stay current with the latest trends in gaming technology, including AI, graphics, network communications, and game engines
  • Assists leads through technical inputs and overall software effort on assigned projects

Who Will Be A Great Fit:

  • Expertise developing mobile games across iOS & Android
  • Ideal candidates will have experience optimizing gameplay and systems for mobile devices and with mobile centric networking experience
  • Knowledge of mobile title specific problem spaces such as memory and performance limitations, gui constraints, communication and input concerns
  • Expertise designing and maintaining data structures and algorithms
  • Expertise with a broad range of gaming platforms and programming languages, especially C/C++
  • Experience architecting, building, and maintaining Object Oriented software with robust engineering practices
  • Expertise with software development patterns (e.g. singleton, factory method, etc.)
  • Expertise with 3D math
  • A team player that takes joy in coding challenges, welcomes suggestions from other team members, and provides feedback to others
  • Experience with multithreaded and asynchronous programming
  • Experience delivering recent generation console or mobile games
  • Expertise with graphics programming
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of programming experience on commercial software projects
  • Game engine expertise and customization experience (Unity 3D, Unreal Engine, Etc...)
  • Current with the latest trends in gaming technology, including AI, graphics, network communications, and game engines
  • Experience developing AAA games

 

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $80,530 and $120,800 per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
