Overview:
As a PC Compatibility Technician, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining a diverse and robust PC testing environment. You will leverage your deep understanding of PC hardware and software to construct and configure detailed PC configurations for rigorous compatibility testing, ensuring our games deliver a seamless experience across a wide range of systems. This individual contributor role requires a hands-on approach and a meticulous attention to detail, focusing on the practical application of your hardware expertise to support our quality assurance efforts.

What You’ll Do:
PC Configuration and Assembly:
Build and configure a wide variety of PC systems with diverse hardware specifications, operating systems, and driver versions, adhering to established standards and best practices.
Ensure accurate and efficient assembly of PC components, including CPUs, GPUs, motherboards, RAM, and storage devices.
Maintain meticulous records of system configurations and component specifications.
Hardware Testing and Troubleshooting:
Conduct detailed hardware compatibility testing, identifying and documenting potential issues.
Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software conflicts, performing repairs and component replacements as needed.
Perform performance testing and benchmarking to evaluate system stability and performance.
System Maintenance and Optimization:
Maintain and optimize PC systems for game testing, including BIOS configuration, driver management, and software installation.
Implement standardized procedures for system imaging, deployment, and software updates.
Ensure all systems are kept up-to-date with the latest drivers and software patches.
Software and Tool Support:
Manage and utilize various software tools for testing, performance monitoring, and driver management.
Assist in evaluating and implementing new software tools to improve testing efficiency.
Provide technical support and guidance to test teams on PC hardware and software configurations.
Documentation and Inventory:
Maintain accurate records of hardware and software inventory, including component specifications and maintenance logs.
Create and update documentation for system configurations, testing procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Maintain organized and clean work area.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with testers and development teams to ensure effective testing of PC compatibility.
Communicate clearly and effectively regarding system status and any identified issues.
What Will Make You A Great Fit:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
3+ years of experience in PC hardware testing, system building, or a related field.
Proven expertise in building, configuring, and maintaining PC hardware and software.
In-depth knowledge of PC components, operating systems, and driver ecosystems, with a specific focus on NVIDIA and AMD GPUs.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with system administration tools and techniques.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in PC compatibility or related field.
Experience working in a game testing or quality assurance environment.
Familiarity with performance profiling and optimization techniques.
Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
CompTIA A+ or other relevant certifications.
