Lead eDiscovery Specialist

The ALG Solutions eDiscovery and Investigations support team in Dublin is seeking to hire an experienced Lead eDiscovery Specialist and would welcome expressions of interest from candidates with proven track records of leading service delivery teams in professional services organisations, preferably in a legal / eDiscovery setting, and have a minimum of 5 years of team leading experience.

Working with ALG Solutions teams, as well as the firm's practice groups, the Lead eDiscovery Specialist will be required to provide operational, eDiscovery and professional support to cover the full eDiscovery EDRM lifecycle. This role will also assist in leading efforts ensuring that ALG builds on its market leading legal analysis to include market leading digital analysis in the eDiscovery field.

This role is a predominantly business facing role but some client facing activity is possible. 

This role will report to the manager in the ALG Solutions eDiscovery and Investigation team.

Role responsibilities

  • Oversee the operational aspects of the e-discovery process from identification to production, ensuring all phases are completed on time and within budget.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and organisational policies related to eDiscovery and data management.
  • Serve as a point of contact between legal teams, IT departments, and external vendors.
  • Work with your manager to develop and implement e-discovery project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and task assignments.
  • Work with your manager to design and implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the review process.
  • Work with your manager to co-ordinate project assignment, overall workload and capacity of junior team members (Legal Reviewers).
  • Collaborate with legal teams to understand case requirements and provide guidance on eDiscovery best practices.
  • Lead and oversee the document review process, including the use of review platforms and the coordination of review teams.
  • Proven ability to escalate challenges in a timely manner, with a solutions-led approach with all stakeholders, internal and external.
  • Clearly communicate project status, challenges, and solutions effectively to all parties involved.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Train and mentor junior e-discovery specialists and other team members on best practices and new developments in the field.
  • Stay current with e-discovery software and tools, and ensure the team is trained and proficient in their use.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies and methodologies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the e-discovery process.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with industry trends and advancements.

Skills, experience and characteristics required

  • At least 5 years industry experience in team leading the operational delivery of eDiscovery / e-Disclosure, or equivalent professional services teams, and ideally have 3+ years of experience of using RelativityOne or similar eDiscovery platforms.
  • Third level honours degree or professional qualification in relevant discipline. A legal qualification / experience is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills with strengths in 'translating' technical information to non-technical audiences and to consistently deliver clear and proactive communications to the legal teams and clients.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships at all levels.
  • Excellent ability to steer projects through to completion by taking ownership and working through ambiguity.
  • Proficient in identifying technical issues and recommending solutions.
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation abilities. Able to handle multiple deliveries in a changing environment with some/minimal supervision.
  • High level of professionalism and accountability; handles sensitive/confidential information with appropriate care.
  • A self-starter who is comfortable in, and committed to, working through ambiguity with an ability to take the initiative.
  • Previous experience working in an eDiscovery team at either a law firm, service provider, or in-house is highly desirable
