Data Engineer

Advanced Agrilytics is seeking a talented and motivated Data Engineer to join our Engineering Team. The Data Engineer will play a key role in shaping and implementing our data architecture and strategy, enabling us to build scalable and efficient solutions to support our business objectives. Advanced Agrilytics is an agronomy services company focused on unlocking the potential of every acre through direct-to-farm agronomic guidance, unbiased spatial research and sub-acre environment understanding, delivering on the promise of precision agriculture.    

This position is part of a job family. Placement will be determined by skills and qualifications of the candidate.

• Design and implement a flexible, scalable, and secure enterprise data architecture that supports high-volume data ingestion, storage, and analytics
• Implement data pipelines and processes to extract, load, and transform data from various sources into a modern data warehouse
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data systems meet the needs of customers, internal product development, and business intelligence applications
• Ensure data governance, quality, and security best practices
• Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in data management and analytics and evaluate their potential impact on our business
• Contribute to web application development using React and Node.js

• 10+ years in data architecture, data engineering, or software development
• Expertise in SQL, Python, and JavaScript (Node.js, React)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), microservices, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong background in database design, data modeling, and system security
• Familiarity with geospatial data and mapping technologies is a plus
• Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and mentorship skills
