Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Project Quality Manager to work within AECOM’s Transportation Group based in the New York Metro region. This role will report to the Chief Engineer and support the region’s various major Transportation projects and programs.

The Project Quality Manager will work as part of a Quality Management Team that will distribute project tasks by quality functions to cover a portfolio of projects across the NY Metro region. The Project Quality Manager will be responsible for managing, documenting, implementing, monitoring, and improving the Quality Functions for multiple programs and projects.

This position is anticipated to be a hybrid position, which will require travel to regional offices and project offices or sites. Projects may include design, planning, CMAR, PMCM, design-bid-build and design-build delivery.

The Project Quality Manager will be accountable for the following critical responsibilities:

  • Manage, assess, and evaluate design and PMCM quality control activities across multiple transportation projects in the NY Metro region.
  • Ensure adherence to AECOM quality management systems and maintain comprehensive records of compliance.
  • Conduct tracking, monitoring, and reporting on project development status and quality deliverables.
  • Provide authoritative guidance to project team members and propose strategic changes to policies and procedures.
  • Oversee Subconsultant Quality Plans, 3rd Party Testing results, and coordinate with Special Testing and Inspection consultants.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive Quality plans, procedures, and guides to enhance delivery processes.
  • Conduct Quality Audits and Surveillances, providing detailed reports on results, metrics, and actions.
  • Serve as a key advisor to project teams in meeting schedules, resolving quality issues, and ensuring quality standards are met in design-build projects.
  • Develop and present project-specific training materials to project teams and subconsultants.
  • Lead the overall quality review process on multidiscipline projects, addressing complex issues and demonstrating a profound understanding of current business trends.

 

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS in Quality or related field plus four years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Experience in performing Quality management in the Transportation field. 


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10 years of experience in the field of design and construction management of infrastructure projects 
  • 5 years of experience in quality assurance and quality control in the design and construction of rail transit projects with a construction value of at least $100 million preferred
  • Industry Certification in ASQ CQA Quality Auditor and ASQ CMQ Manager of Quality
  • Experience working with Transportation and Transit Agencies. 
  • Understanding of Quality and Assurance within the Transportation Field
  • Understanding of the FTA QMS Guidelines for Quality Management System 2019
  • Excellent communication and team support skills.
  • Excellent computer skills to include Bluebeam
  • Excellent client management and relationship skills.
  • Ability to work with remote teams to ensure quality assurance and compliance.
  • Relevant Field Experience preferred.
