Functional Safety Manager

We are looking for a Functional Safety Manager to lead and execute safety-related activities, assist program teams in delivering safety case work products, and support the development of ISO 26262 compliant designs. This position reports to the System Engineering Functional Leader.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and standardize technical work products for Functional Safety.
  • Conduct Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment, item definition, functional safety concept, technical safety requirements, FTA, FMEA, and other safety analyses.
  • Document Functional Safety work products following company guidelines and processes.
  • Assist in creating test case specifications for safety requirements.
  • Participate in and lead Functional Safety reviews as necessary.
  • Validate Functional Safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with system, hardware, and software engineers to achieve functional safety goals, including aiding in architecture design to develop cost-effective compliant solutions.
  • Provide risk assessments for Overall Safety Management throughout the vehicle lifecycle, including modifications to existing products.

  • Educational Background: MSc in Software, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: 6-10 years of progressive responsibility and hands-on experience with safety systems.
  • Expertise: In-depth knowledge of safety engineering and the ISO 26262 standard.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficient in FMEA and FTA principles and analysis techniques.
  • Design Experience: Proven experience in designing and architecting automotive systems compliant with ISO 26262.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues, recommend solutions, and negotiate and execute contingency plans.
  • Teamwork: Strong collaboration skills.
