Our Actuarial Reserving & Data Specialists are responsible for providing expert support and driving process modernization for clients using our proprietary insurance reserving software, Arius. 

The role involves helping our industry leading clients to implement Arius into their operational workflow - including understanding their data, processes, and reporting requirements - and then training them on the use of our solution once it has been implemented. 

Playing an integral role in helping clients understand and resolve issues related to their use of our tools, the Actuarial Reserving & Data Specialist enables our clients to optimise their use of them. 

Key responsibilities of this role will include the following:

  • Client relationship management: Building strong relationships with clients and partners, gaining a deep understanding of their business objectives and offering strategic guidance using our reserving solutions

  • Client satisfaction: Proactively identifying and addressing potential issues or concerns clients may have using our solutions, therefore reducing the risk of product churn. Leveraging strong relationships with clients to monitor satisfaction levels, and providing timely solutions to ensure continued value and long-term retention.

  • Client advocacy: Serving as advocate of the client within our company, gathering and sharing feedback with the sales and product teams to support ongoing improvement

  • Solution mastery: Demonstrating a solid understanding of accepted insurance finance and actuarial calculations alongside bespoke reserving analysis concepts. Mastering common outputs and reporting needs of a reserve analysis.

  • Assist with sales presentation: Being comfortable presenting our solutions to sophisticated buyers, effectively communicating the value our solutions provide, addressing the client's questions and needs, and demonstrating how our tools can drive client business success.

  • Client training & implementation: Leading client training and implementation efforts by delivering customized onboarding experiences, ensuring seamless software adoption, and providing continuous support.

Training and support for solution partners: Developing and maintaining strong relationships with our delivery partners (key consulting and technology firms) to assist them in the delivery of training and support to our mutual clients.

The successful applicant must meet each of the following criteria in order to be considered for this position (elements in bold are things, without which, we will be unable to consider your application):

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, Insurance, Accounting, or similar
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience with P&C insurance, either in an Actuarial or Accounting department or in a Consulting role, or substantial experience with P&C insurance loss reserving
  • Intermediate to advanced experience reading and writing Visual Basic or VBA, or proficiency with Python or R
  • The capacity to relay technical information to non-technical audiences
  • A proven track record of interacting with senior / C-level contacts
  • Excellent written and spoken English language skills
  • A willingness to travel both domestically and internationally (+/-5%)

BONUS CRITERIA

  • Progress toward Associate in Casualty Actuary Society (ACAS) designation or equivalent experience in actuarial science
  • Experience using either Arius or ResQ reserving solutions
  • Experience using or building actuarial solutions, preferably with a strong understanding of the insurance reserving processes
  • Having contributed to drafting of training materials and/or user-targeted documentation for work processes/products
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships, provide strategic guidance, and lead software implementations
  • Experience managing projects, including working with various levels of management, IT, and analyst roles

LOCATION

Our team is located in Atlanta, Montréal, and New York City and, as such, preference will be shown to candidates who are either local or willing to relocate. 

However, we are willing to consider candidates who are not based in one of our locations or who cannot relocate, should they possess the ideal skill set.

Important: You must possess an employment status that will allow work in either the United States or Canada.
