Sales Engineer

Under minimal direction, this Parts Sales Engineer role is responsible for the sale of commercial and industrial HVAC equipment and systems to owners, engineers, architects, contractors and consultants through email, phone and over the counter. In partnership with Albireo Energy, you will build and manage long term customer relationships with your customers, accounts and the manufacturers.

  • Demonstrates technical expertise to develop credibility, loyalty, trust and commitment.
  • Determines project needs, constraints, and responsibilities to meet all of the customer’s HVAC system design and installation requirements.
  • Reports to an office environment and occasionally in the field to effectively represent Albireo.
  • Effectively writes, presents and communicates bids. Negotiate value and closes the sale.
  • Positively and credibly influence system design and solutions with customers. Frequently creates competitive, high quality and timely estimates, bids, proposals, and cost/benefit analysis.
  • Builds partnering relationships with customers and manufacturers contractors. Understand the customer's business and speaks their language.
  • Responsible for supporting and assisting in the accounts receivable collection process.
  • Addresses customer's operational and environmental objectives, needs and requirements and sell solutions.
  • Solicits support from and communicate effectively with the entire sales team and inside sales support staff.
  • Keeps management informed of progress and account status. Knows when to call for assistance from upper management to keep the sales process moving.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships to drive repeat business.
  • Accurately pick, package, and ship customer orders, ensuring proper labelling and documentation.
  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming shipments, ensuring accurate labeling and storage.
  • Retrieve, package, and deliver parts as needed.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through data entry, supporting reports and audits.
  • Inspect products for quality control, reporting any defects or discrepancies.
  • Assist with warranty returns and related documentation.
  • Manage inventory, ensuring stock accuracy and organization.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with end users, energy suppliers, consulting engineers, large owner accounts, and ESCOs.
  • Prepare technical proposals and presentations to consulting engineers that effectively communicate our value proposition.
  • Schedule meetings with customers, identify opportunities, and promote Albireo Energy’s capabilities.
  • Negotiate final pricing and scope of work with contractors, suppliers, and end users.
  • Collaborate with other sales executives to achieve team goals.
  • Track sales activities and forecast sales opportunities in CRM.
  • Achieve annual revenue and gross margin targets.

Requirements

  • Three years or more of related experience in HVAC Equipment Sales and/or a bachelor’s degree in engineering or business; or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA and/or progressive field sales experience is a plus.
  • Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning or Construction industry experience is a must.
  • Must have reliable transportation with state required insurance and license.
  • Excellent initiative, and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence the market at key levels.
  • Strong PC skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
