Summary
The Manager of Indirect Tax will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate tax filings, managing audits, and maintaining compliance with federal, state and local tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical tax knowledge, leadership skills, and a proactive approach to process improvement.

Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986. Must pass a Criminal Background Check.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree

Certification: Yes
Certification Details: Certified Public Accountant.
Years of Experience: Minimum four (4) years of professional experience in indirect tax compliance, with a focus on sales and property tax.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills (technical and non-technical).
•Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
•Knowledge of non-income tax regulatory and compliance knowledge.
Preferred Requirements
•Microsoft Excel, OneSource Indirect Tax, SQL, SAP, Ariba, Navitaire, and Sage Premier Depreciation.
•Master's Degree in Tax or Accounting.
Job Duties
•Tax Compliance Management
•Oversee preparation and timely filing of excise, liquor, hotel occupancy, sales, and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions.
•Manage property tax compliance, including return filings, assessments, and payments.
•Ensure accuracy and completeness of all indirect tax filings.
•Assist with income tax compliance and tax provision, as needed.
•Tax System Oversight
•Maintain and update tax rates, rules, and product taxability in tax software.
•Leverage tax automation tools (e.g., OneSource Indirect Tax, Navitaire) to streamline compliance processes.
•Collaborate with IT and finance teams to ensure proper tax configuration in ERP systems and tax software.
•Audit & Risk Management
•Manage indirect tax audits and inquiries.
•Coordinate with external advisors and internal stakeholders during audit processes.
•Identify and mitigate tax compliance risks.
•Cross-Functional Collaboration
•Partner with accounting, legal, procurement, and operations teams to ensure tax compliance across business activities.
•Provide tax guidance on business transactions and contracts.
•Reporting & Reconciliation
•Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes related to indirect taxes.
•Prepare and review tax account reconciliations and journal entries.
•Analyze tax data and provide insights to senior management.
•Legislative Monitoring & Advisory
•Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations affecting sales, liquor, hotel occupancy, excise, and property taxes.
•Assess the impact of legislative changes and communicate implications to stakeholders.
•Recommend strategies to ensure ongoing compliance and minimize tax liabilities.
•Team Leadership & Development
•Supervise and mentor tax staff and/or analysts.
•Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities.

•Assist with various withholding and information reporting requirements.
•Maintain professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging issues, participating in educational opportunities, and reviewing professional publications.

Exposure to moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones, printers, and foot traffic), temperature and light fluctuations. Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Some travel may be a requirement of the role.
