Our Public Health Systems department's efforts range from building the next generation technology in disease surveillance to optimizing data standards and system integrations to improve the coordination and delivery of healthcare for patients. You’ll work in an Agile environment alongside a team of Software Developers, Business Analysts, and Public Health Analysts.
We are excited to announce an opening for a Manager, Senior Interoperability Analyst. This will be a supervisory/people manager role within our Public Health Systems Division. Public Health Systems advances population health management and healthcare delivery through the development of public health IT systems, health information exchange and interoperability solutions.
Responsibilities- Lead the analysis and documentation of business processes, workflows and use cases for system design and health information exchange.
- Facilitate working sessions with business owners/end users to document current and future business processes and workflows.
- Facilitate working sessions with client business stakeholders to document business use cases.
- Create business process and use case workflow diagrams.
- Facilitate working sessions with client technical teams to review and document current IT infrastructure and architecture.
- Facilitate working sessions with clients to identify and document current and future interoperability solutions.
- Provide assistance to clients in the design of future IT infrastructure architecture.
- Provide guidance on usage and implementation of health data interoperability standards.
- Work with technical staff to translate business requirements into functional requirements and specifications.
- Plan and facilitate functional design sessions.
- Work with project managers to identify and document technical tasks.
- Lead the development of testing, validation and implementation plans and processes.
- Perform research on national interoperability standards and vocabularies.
- Create and maintain system design and operational procedure documentation.
- Leading, developing and mentoring a team of analysts.
Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in healthcare related projects leading the development and documentation of business and functional requirements using interviews, document analysis, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
- Prior supervisory/people management experience.
- Knowledge of clinical terminologies such as SNOMED, LOINC, RxNorm and ICD-10.
- Knowledge of interfaces/data sharing standards such as HL7, CDA, FHIR and IHE.
- Knowledge of SOAP and REST web services, streaming APIs, queueing, and leveraging PHP, Java, XML, XSLT & JSON.
- Experience with Rhapsody, Mirth, Cloverleaf or other interface engines.
- Demonstrated ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources.
- Demonstrated ability to produce requirements documents, develop use cases and process flow charts, create presentations, and to capture, track and report statistical data.
- Proven ability to interact directly with clients and effectively understand needs while managing expectations.
- Experience with electronic case reports (eCR’s), electronic laboratory reports (eLR’s), and Immunizations.
Logistical Requirements- At this time we will only accept candidates who are presently eligible to work in the United States and will not require sponsorship.
- Our organization requires that all work, for the duration of your employment, must be completed in the continental U.S. unless required by contract.
- If you are local to our offices in Arlington, Silver Spring, Novi, or Portland this role will be hybrid (one day per week in office on Collaboration Wednesdays).
- Must be able to work during eastern time unless approved by your manager.
- Employees working remotely must have a dedicated, ergonomically appropriate workspace free from distractions with a mobile device that allows for productive and efficient conduct of business.
$102,408 - $123,000 a year
At Altarum, we carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors and rely on market indicators to get it right. Individual compensation packages are based on numerous factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. This salary range is not a guarantee of compensation, as the final offer amount will vary based on these factors.
