Are you an experience C++/Qt Software Architect with unmatched expertise in crafting innovative solutions? At ALTEN, we're inviting a top-tier software professional to lead the charge in redefining the future of naval technology. This is your chance to tackle an exciting challenge: designing next-generation Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance (ISR) systems for the maritime defence sector. With your deep knowledge of C++ and Qt frameworks, you will play a pivotal role in creating robust interfaces that deliver new functionality while preserving critical UI/UX standards relied upon in mission-critical scenarios.

This role will be hybrid with 3 days per week on-site requirement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the redesign and development of advanced HCI/HMI solutions for naval ISR systems in the defence sector.
• Apply your expert-level knowledge of C++ and Qt to architect high-performance, scalable, and secure systems.
• Take ownership of the software architecture, ensuring robust designs that meet operational requirements and long-term maintainability.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration.
• Maintain and enhance UI/UX consistency, enabling new functionalities without disrupting end-user workflows.
• Write detailed software design documents and requirement specifications, ensuring clarity and precision.
• Uphold the highest standards of secure coding practices for mission-critical systems in the defence environment.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in C++ development with a mastery of the language and its application in complex systems.
• Extensive expertise in Qt frameworks, including proficiency in designing and implementing custom UI components.
• Proven track record of delivering sophisticated HCI/HMI solutions for complex, mission-critical environments.
• Advanced skills in software architecture, requirement specification, and system design.
• Experience working in highly regulated environments, preferably in defence, aerospace, or naval sectors.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of large-scale software initiatives.

Security Clearance Requirement:

• Sole British citizenship.
• Eligibility for SC Clearance.
