IT Support Engineer

About the Role

As an IT Support Engineer at Alumil, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure and providing outstanding support to our employees. You will be the first point of contact for any technical issues and will diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve a range of technical problems.

Your responsibilities will include maintaining hardware, software, and network components while providing attentive, high-quality customer service to ensure employee satisfaction and productivity.

In this position, you will also have the opportunity to implement innovative technologies and participate in projects that enhance the efficiency of our IT environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first and second-level IT support to end-users, assisting with hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues by performing root cause analysis and developing solutions.
  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot IT infrastructure, including servers, workstations, and network devices.
  • Install and configure operating systems and other software applications.
  • Document support requests and resolutions in the ticketing system, aiming for timely turnaround.
  • Maintain inventory of hardware and software assets.
  • Train end-users on software applications and IT policies.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to improve systems, processes, and overall service delivery.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of IT policies and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and propose improvements or upgrades to existing IT infrastructure.
  • Resolves technical problems of computers, networks and telephones of the Group's users and partners.
  • BSc in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support or a related role.
  • Solid understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts.
  • Expertise in diagnosing Windows issues and a thorough understanding of Operating Systems.
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting hardware issues, along with a strong grasp of networking and security best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and technical skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional) are a plus.
