Join Aprio's Professional Practice Group and you will help assurance team members and clients maximize their opportunities. Aprio is a progressive, fast-growing firm looking for a Senior Assurance Manager to join their dynamic team.


Principal Responsibilities:

As a Senior Assurance Manager in Aprio’s national Professional Practice Group, you will hold a pivotal role in ensuring adherence to professional standards by the assurance practice, specifically AICPA auditing, accounting and review, and attestation standards. You will serve as the PPG team’s primary resource for assurance related consultations and learning, monitoring trends in practice and leading efforts to comply with newly issued standards. You will leverage your strong technical expertise to drive continuous improvement, taking a holistic view of the assurance practice and executing on opportunities to enhance quality.


Key Responsibilities:


Monitoring Trends:
  • Monitor standard setting activity, taking the lead in promoting compliance with newly issued standards by the assurance practice.
  • Analyze internal and external quality trends, identifying and acting on opportunities for improvement.


Conducting Consultations:
  • Serve as the PPG team’s primary resource for assurance related inquiries.
  • Provide expert guidance to engagement teams, guiding them in the application of professional standards.
  • Partner with engagement team leaders to resolve intricate assurance matters.


Quality Control Reviews:
  • Perform pre- and post-issuance reviews, verifying adherence to professional standards and promoting consistent application.
  • Extract insights and take action to enhance assurance quality across the practice.


Developing Guidance, Learning and Thought Leadership:
  • Develop or revise existing firm assurance guidance and templates to promote assurance quality and ensure conformity with professional standards.
  • Organize and deliver training to promote understanding and standards compliance.
  • Contribute to the creation of thought leadership, working in collaboration with PPG leadership.


Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation is required.
  • Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in assurance, auditing, and financial reporting within a public accounting firm.
  • Strong expertise with AICPA auditing, accounting and review, and attestation standards.
  • Demonstrated leadership acumen, including spearheading short- and long-term projects.
  • Superb communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective conveyance of complex concepts.
  • Proficiency in using audit software, data analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Sharp attention to detail, analytical dexterity, and adept problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining professional integrity and ethical conduct.


$135,000 - $220,000 a year
The salary range for this opportunity is stated above. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range.
