The associate producer is responsible for working with product managers and other stakeholders to bring educational series, branding, marketing initiatives, and events to life through creative, story-driven videos. The associate producer leads video production personnel to manage resources to produce high-quality content. The associate producer is a developer of talent and will expand our production capacity by developing relationships with vendors and negotiating the best possible contracts for Ascension's video productions. The associate producer is responsible for adhering to and implementing a cohesive, creative vision for video projects by providing clear direction to video editors and artists. The associate producer is also an enthusiastic and collaborative team member who works to create our videos and podcasts. This position requires a high level of professionalism, excellent attention to detail, developed technical and organizational skills, problem-solving ability, and experience handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. The associate producer is also responsible for adhering to a cohesive project development process.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in the creative development and pre-production of video projects/resources.
- Cooperating with the product managers and content and creative teams to ensure that content is cohesive between video, print, and marketing materials
- Liaising with graphics and production to ensure visual cohesion with video resources.
- Work with marketing to develop video/content resources that meet product marketing needs.
- Oversee filming logistics from conception to completion.
- Source talent and production resources as needed at all stages of product creation.
- Direct all outside resources used in video production, including but not limited to independent contractors or outsourced video production companies.
- Oversee shot list and shoot schedule development, travel coordination, shoot setup, on-site coordination, and permits.
- Oversee all production-related paperwork, such as location agreements and talent releases, as well as tracking expenses and submitting invoices and receipts.
- Understanding and ensuring that the vision of the product is adhered to during the production process.
- Organize film/production crew, including internal personnel, external contractors, and outsourced video production companies.
- Work with product managers and producers to develop budgets for video projects and guide project scope within the budget specifications
- Work with product managers and producers to develop project schedules and ensure resources are in place to guarantee the timely completion of projects.
- Ensure adherence to production budget and schedule are maintained.
- Negotiate fees for talent, production services, usage rights, and locations.
- Oversee organization and manage all video project/product workflow scheduling.
- Associate producer oversees the coordination of video resources across project teams and works with project managers to assess team workflow and scheduling.
- Ensure that the workload for video production is tracking with the overall production schedule and scope.
- Liaison with outside organizations.
- The associate producer cultivates relationships with external production partners, and sources and negotiates large-scale contracts for video production services from vendors.
- Develop and expand our production capacity by participating in hiring and providing creative direction to the video talent (directors, cinematographers, production assistants, camera operators, motion graphics designers, and video editors) needed to execute the creative vision
- Associate producer develops and implements the video production process into the larger product creation process at Ascension.
- Oversee post-production workflow and ensure creative vision is carried out in the editing process.
- Assist on set as needed to fulfill crew resource needs, be they technical or support-oriented.
- BA/BS in the Arts, Film Production, Digital Marketing or related field.
- 2+ years minimum of professional video production experience, producing videos that appeal to a wide audience preferred.
- Have sample scripts and a portfolio of work to demonstrate skills and abilities.
- Familiarity with Office software (Mac preferred).
- Expertly utilize Photoshop and Adobe programs such as Primer and Premier Pro, Final Cut Pro, and After Effects.
- Familiarity with Ascension products and/or the Catholic market.
- Experience using social media platforms.
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Occasional international travel may be required for specific projects.
- Occasional travel to Exton, PA, is required.
