IT Support Technician

attica department stores is currently in search of an IT Support Technician  to join our growing IT team and provide support across our store network in Athens.

Role Purpose: The job holder will be reporting to the Technical Manager and will be responsible for performing hardware troubleshooting (Cash Registers, Computers, Printers etc). Also, he/she will be responsible for diagnosing any hardware or software faults within these systems and for solving the issues either in person or remotely.

Key accountabilities:

• Provide first-level technical support by troubleshooting hardware issues and serving as a Help Desk agent, responding to user queries and guiding them toward effective solutions or escalating to the appropriate support level when necessary.
• Conduct daily on-site monitoring of store systems including cash registers, access control, anti-theft systems, CCTV, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Ensure the smooth operation of critical infrastructure such as Wi-Fi networks, Cisco Call Manager systems, portable communication devices, wireless POS terminals, and RF scanners.
• Communicate with external service providers in case of system malfunctions or failures to ensure timely resolution.
• Maintain the performance and stability of the local area network (LAN) and workstations across the store network.
• Identify and propose improvements to technical processes and support procedures.

Skills/Experience Required:

• BSc/BA in IT, Computer Science or other relevant field.
• Proven experience as a help desk technician or other customer support role.
• Excellent MS-Windows, MS-Office skills.
• Knowledge of Linux will be considered a plus.
• Wide knowledge of LAN.
• Good understanding of a wide variety of computer systems.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues.
• Excellent command of English (both written and oral).
• Customer-oriented personality with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Flexibility to work in shifts.
