Your new role
This Assistant Accountant role offers the opportunity to work across key areas of the Finance team, with a focus on Accounts Payable, Travel & Expenses (T&E), and Accounts Receivable processes. You'll handle transaction processing, support month-end close activities, and take on a variety of recurring and ad hoc tasks, contributing to the smooth running of our financial operations.
Key Responsibilities Include:
• Accurate and timely reconciliation and processing of Accounts Payables and banking functions
• Administration of Accounts Receivable including generating and sending out invoices
• Assist with month end close including journal processing, pre-payments accounting, and accruals as well as balance sheet reconciliations
• Daily bank account reconciliations
• Update and maintain the Fixed Assets Register and process monthly depreciation journals
• Prepare or assist with preparing monthly BAS and CAS submissions to ATO
• Assist the Finance team with ad-hoc finance requests such as quarterly internal control reports and external audit requests
About you:
You're likely in a similar role, looking to progress your accounting skills in a team and organisation where you have the opportunity to shine and be recognised for your efforts. You are a technically strong, detail-oriented professional with strong communication and interpersonal skills, who has the ability to build effective working relationships in a close-knit environment. You have excellent time management and prioritisation skills, and can work autonomously. You approach tasks with a curious, can-do attitude and have an aptitude for learning new processes and skills.
If you have most or all the following, we’d love to hear from you:
• 2+ years’ experience in a similar role, with an excellent understanding of the AP/AR function
• Experience with a general ledger system - Netsuite is highly preferable
• Confident Excel skills - using pivot tables and vlookups
• Experience with Flexipurchase or other Travel and Expense systems
• Completion, or partial completion of Accounting, Finance or Business qualifications are preferred
