The Field Service Technician will perform on-site installation of machine control systems on heavy equipment and provide service to the systems after the installation has been performed. The systems are typically installed on all types of heavy equipment used in the excavation industry. This position will include local travel to various sites within our sales region to complete the work.
General responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Completing field install accurately and efficiently
Accurately diagnosing and resolving service issues
Submitting accurate and complete paperwork
Ability to self manage your time
Work a minimum of 40 hours per week
Present an appropriate business appearance at all times and maintain professionalism
Reporting all issues to their direct supervisor
Communicate constructively to management and team members
Travel within the sales territories of Benchmark Tool and Supply
Provide high quality support to customers in the field and inside the office.
High school diploma, AAS in Heavy Equipment Technology or Construction Equipment Technology preferred
Basic computer knowledge
General knowledge of windows and windows applications
Experience using various hand tools to complete installs
Experience using electronic/electrical test equipment
Self Starter, Self Motivated
Must be capable of learning new hardware and systems on a continuous basis.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
Associate's or bachelor’s degree preferred.
Intermediate computer knowledge
Welding/Fabrication skills
