SleepTales Editor (Contract)

The Opportunity

We’re the creator of BetterSleep: the app that has helped more than 65 million people sleep and feel better across the globe. The app features a tool to track and record your sleep, over 100 ambient sounds, relaxing music, guided meditations and sleep stories, available in over six different languages! Our mission is to help people change their lives with a better night's sleep. 

What are we looking for?

We are seeking a skilled Editor to polish and refine our SleepTales, ensuring they provide the ultimate calming experience for our users. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a talent for enhancing narratives, and a deep understanding of how language can soothe the mind and body.

Responsibilities

• Edit original SleepTales (3000–5000 words) to ensure they promote relaxation and sleep.
• Enhance narratives by refining pacing, tone, and descriptive language to align with our soothing style.
• Collaborate with writers and the content team to ensure alignment with thematic or seasonal campaigns.
• Provide constructive feedback to writers to guide revisions and maintain tone and style consistency.
• Research best practices and techniques to optimize SleepTales for relaxation and sleep enhancement.

• Studies in creative writing, English, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• Proven experience in fiction writing or storytelling (portfolio or writing samples required).
• Exceptional command of grammar, spelling, and English communication.
• Talent for creating engaging yet soothing narratives with vivid, descriptive language and a slow, relaxing pace.
• Ability to adapt to and maintain alignment with our brand voice and style guidelines.
• Familiarity with mindfulness, sleep, or relaxation-focused content is a strong advantage.
• Excellent time management skills and reliability in meeting deadlines.

$0.06 per word, based on experience, expertise, and the scope of the project.
