We are seeking a skilled and motivated Solar Service Technician to join our team. As a Solar Service Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of solar energy systems. Your expertise will ensure the optimal performance and longevity of our clients' solar installations, contributing to both customer satisfaction and the advancement of renewable energy.


Responsibilities:
  • Routine Maintenance: Perform scheduled inspections and maintenance tasks on solar energy systems, including cleaning solar panels, checking connections, and verifying system performance.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues with solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, inverters, battery storage systems, and associated components.
  • Repairs: Conduct repairs on malfunctioning or damaged solar equipment, including replacement of defective parts, wiring repairs, and system reconfiguration as necessary.
  • System Upgrades: Assist in the installation and integration of system upgrades or expansions, such as additional panels, batteries, or monitoring equipment.
  • Performance Testing: Utilize testing equipment and software to analyze system performance, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements to optimize energy production.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working on rooftops, elevated structures, and electrical components, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of service activities, including maintenance logs, repair reports, and parts inventory, to track system history and facilitate future maintenance.
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients to explain service procedures, provide recommendations for system optimization, and address any questions or concerns they may have.
  • Training and Development: Stay updated on industry advancements, emerging technologies, and best practices through training sessions, workshops, and self-directed learning to enhance technical skills and knowledge.


Requirements:
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in electrical systems, renewable energy technologies, and solar PV system components, with a strong understanding of system design, installation, and operation.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose complex technical issues, troubleshoot effectively, and implement practical solutions in a timely manner to ensure minimal system downtime.
  • Safety Awareness: Demonstrated commitment to safety practices and procedures, with the ability to work at heights, follow safety protocols, and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to maintenance tasks, with a focus on accuracy and thoroughness in inspections, repairs, and documentation to uphold quality standards and customer satisfaction.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, team members, and supervisors, conveying technical information in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to perform manual tasks, lift heavy equipment, and work outdoors in various weather conditions, while maintaining high levels of energy and endurance throughout the workday.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as NABCEP Solar PV Installer, OSHA 10/30, or electrical licensure are preferred but not required. Willingness to obtain certifications and pursue ongoing training opportunities as needed.
  • Generac experience highly preferred
  • Driving License: Valid driver's license and clean driving record, with the ability to travel to client sites and transport equipment as necessary.
  • Willingness to travel as needed
