The Resource Development Specialist plays a critical role in supporting Bright Harbor Healthcare’s fundraising and donor engagement efforts; especially those directly connected with the Youth Bridge Housing project. This position is responsible for maintaining donor records, coordinating events, assisting with grant submissions, and fostering relationships with donors, sponsors, and partners. The Resource Development Specialist will collaborate closely with the Development team to implement strategies that advance the organization’s mission. This position is grant funded through June 2026.

Responsibilities:
Grant Support
- Works directly with Project Director on reviewing grant deliverables to ensure that all deliverables are met in a timely manner.
- Assist in developing a community resource guide of available social services in the Monmouth-Ocean region.
- Assist in preparing and submitting grant proposals, applications, and reports.
- Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and reporting requirements.
Communications & Outreach
- Develop content that highlights impactful work being done at BHH, as well as donor impact and promotes fundraising campaigns.
- Collaborate with staff to create compelling fundraising materials, newsletters, and social media content.
- Provides administrative support for community advisory board meetings, including creating agendas, taking minutes, and ensuring attendance of board members.
- Ensure consistent and clear communication with stakeholders.
Donor Relations & Stewardship
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in the donor database (e.g. Raiser’s Edge, GiveButter, etc.)
- Assist in building and maintaining relationships with donors, sponsors, and partners.
- Acknowledge gifts promptly through thank-you letters, emails, or calls.
- Fundraising Support
- Support corporate sponsorship efforts, including outreach and proposal development.
- Coordinate and assist with annual giving campaigns, donor appeals, and special initiatives.
- Prepare fundraising reports and analyze donor trends to inform strategies.
Event Coordination
- Help plan and execute fundraising events, including galas, community fundraisers, and donor appreciation events to support BHH programming, specifically the Youth Bridge Housing project.
- Manage event logistics, vendor coordination, and volunteer recruitment, partnering with The NOOK and its volunteers when appropriate.
- Track event expenses and ensure alignment with the event budget.
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, social work, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- 1-3 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or related fields.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and 360.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of fundraising principles and donor cultivation strategies is a plus.
