The Role
CMG is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Intern who wants to join a fast-paced, growing NYC-based fintech within our Commercial team. In this role, you will work with a variety of team members and have the potential to positively impact areas such as sales, marketing, and data analytics. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data-driven business strategy, market research, and commercial engagement, while contributing to strategic initiatives that drive growth and innovation. You will need to be passionate about sales and marketing and excited to join a disruptor- ideal for candidates interested in capital markets, B2B SaaS, or fintech innovation.
Responsibilties- Build detailed key account maps for our top-tier institutional clients, including global investment banks and leading buy-side firms.
- Conduct wide-ranging prospecting across high-value current and prospective accounts, with data entry and tagging in Outreach to accelerate sales outreach and segmentation
- Refresh and enhance sales performance metrics aligned with evolving sales manager priorities.
- Build and maintain a proofing database to proactively track client seat allocations for audit readiness.
- Work to improve our CRM (Hubspot) data quality and usage
- Strategize with top-producing sales directors
- Market Research: Contribute to the identification and evaluation of specific business opportunities and market trends
- Understanding CMG’s core business model and near-term growth strategy
- Support CMG’s focus on industry thought leadership and content writing
You have - Rising junior or senior pursuing a degree in Finance with a concentration in Marketing, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., Hubspotch) is a plus.
- Self-starter with a proactive mindset and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong interest in technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship
- Desire to learn equity capital markets and the related data, workflow and infrastructure that facilitates fundraising/investment.
- Attention to detail, organizational and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication
- Preference will be given to college students within one year of undergraduate graduation (December 2025 - May 2026 graduation date)
- Comfortable working in a collaborative and fast paced team environment
- Experience in consulting, finance, start-up and/or other business environments
- Positive, “whatever it takes” attitude

$20 - $25 an hour
The estimated salary range for this role is $20.00-$25.00 per hour. The successful candidate’s salary will be determined by non-discriminatory factors such as skills and experience.
