Ocean Export Agent

We have an exciting opportunity for an Export Agent in our Houston Projects Team to coordinate the movement of our customers export shipments. You will be the main point of contact for coordination between customers shipment exports, customs brokers, and shipping carriers.

The Position: Manage Ocean Export shipments from A to Z

• Open files in our operational software ( Cargowise) for each shipment received.
• Contact the shipper and the overseas agent to coordinate the shipment
• Responsible to review customers' documentation (commercial invoice, Packing list, Hazmat documentation), shipping manifest, and issue transport bill of lading. Must verify Weigh/Dims/Volumes/Quantities
• Ensure all steps and documents are aligned with local and foreign compliance requirements.
• File export customs
• Choose vendor, direct flow of Ocean traffic from pick up to the overseas destinations.
• Responsible to create, issue, and send our invoice for the shipment to the customer.
• Responsible to approve and log vendors invoices ( Ex: steamship line, truckers, terminals, overseas branches) into the system.
• Communicate with the customer and the overseas agent through out the shipment
• Assess challenges, create solutions, communicate options and follow through with resolution when necessary.

• 1-3 years of experience managing ocean export shipments from A to Z
• Must possess good English written and Oral communication skills.
• Be organized, capable to multi-task and detail-oriented
• Good communication skills
• Bachelor's degree
• 1-2 years cargo wise experience is a plus.
