The Training Specialist - BOH Manager Trainer is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing BOH training programs for kitchen staff to ensure operational excellence, food quality, safety, and teamwork. This position ensures compliance with operational standards and promotes a culture of learning and development across Chicken N Picklet teams. The Training Specialist - BOH Manager Trainer must embody Chicken N Pickle’s core values of Authenticity, Community, Connection, Integrity, and Quality while supporting a diversity, equity, and inclusion culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Training Development and Implementation
- Design, develop, deliver, and maintain comprehensive Center of Training Excellence (COTE) BOH Manager training materials, including manuals, videos, and online modules.
- Deliver in-person and virtual training sessions for BOH Assistant Kitchen Managers in Training (AK-MITs) at the COTE.
- Conduct onboarding programs for new staff to familiarize them with company Chicken N Pickle standards, policies, and procedures.
- Perform routine training team member evaluation visits in all locations
- Skill and Performance Enhancement
- Train AK-MITs in BOH responsibilities such as food preparation, cooking techniques, plating standards, and equipment usage.
- Identify skill gaps through performance assessments and recommend appropriate training interventions.
- Mentor and coach BOH Managers after leaving training to enhance individual and team performance.
- Maintain comprehensive records of training activities, attendance, and outcomes.
- Prepare reports and presentations on training initiatives and their impact on performance.
- Operational Compliance
- Ensure all training programs comply with health, safety, and food handling regulations.
- Monitor adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and provide corrective training as needed.
- Training Metrics and Evaluation
- Assess the effectiveness of training programs using feedback, performance metrics, and post-training evaluations.
- Report on training outcomes and suggest improvements for future initiatives.
- Collaboration and Coordination
- Collaborate with the Corporate Training Manager in the development of Weekly Focus training materials.
- Collaborate with Corporate Training Manager to develop new Menu/LBW/LTO roll-outs.
- Collaborate with Regional Culinary Directors (RDCs) and HR teams to identify training needs and develop tailored programs.
- Support RDCs in addressing specific employee performance issues through targeted coaching.
- Technology Utilization
- Leverage learning management systems (LMS) to deliver and track training programs.
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate modern training techniques and technologies.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Education:
- Relevant certifications in training and development (e.g., Certified Hospitality Trainer) are a plus.
- ServSafe Manager Certification
- Experience:
- 2+ years of culinary experience
- 1+ years of experience at Chicken N Pickle
- Hands-on experience with restaurant operations, including front-of-house and or back-of-house procedures.
- Skills:
- Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in training software and tools, including LMS platforms.
- Knowledge of food safety and workplace health regulations.
Working Conditions:
- Must be based in Grapevine, TX near our COTE (Center of Training Excellence).
- Regular travel between restaurant locations to deliver training.
