Job Description

The wage range for this position is $24.25 - $28.50 / hour based on relevant experience.  

Position Summary                                                     

Manages financial processes, including petty cash, resident trust accounts, accounts payable, and bank deposits. Responsibilities include maintaining files, tracking census and occupancy data, preparing reports, assisting with financial audits, and supporting annual rate adjustments. The role also involves assisting with insurance verifications and communicating with residents and families about financial matters. Additional duties include creating reports and supporting various financial and administrative tasks as assigned.

 Essential Duties                                                       

  • Manages petty cash; resident trust account; prepares bank deposits and processes accounts payable. Maintains files and records pertaining to the function and runs reports as needed. As appropriate, assists community Directors in auditing financial performances.
  • Tracks census, occupancy, and other financial spreadsheets.
  • Assists with preparation and distribution of yearly rate increases.
  • Creates and distributes reports as required.
  • Assists Medicare Billing Specialist with insurance verifications.
  • Responsible for accounts payable and billing for assigned Community.
  • Will assist with communication with residents and family members regarding financial matters (not limited to but including month-end closing).   
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 Basic Qualifications & Experience                        

  • Minimum of 2 years bookkeeping experience required.
  • Competent in accounting software relevant to the position (Excel or other common financial programs).
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Records and knowledge of medical insurance practices. 
  • Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.

 Working Conditions / Physical Requirements     

  • Light physical effort required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.
  • Sits, stands, bends, and moves intermittently during working hours.
  • Is subject to frequent interruptions.
  • Interacts with residents, family members, visitors frequently.
