Church of the City New York is seeking a Care & Prayer Coordinator to play a key role in strengthening and advancing our Care and Prayer ministries. This position will support the Pastor of Care and Community by ensuring the vision of our church—to see the fame and deeds of God renewed and known in our time—is carried out with excellence.
This role requires a leader who thrives in building systems, fostering connections, and mobilizing people toward prayer and care initiatives. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver, a clear communicator, and someone who can create and steward meaningful ministry opportunities. They will help shape environments that cultivate spiritual formation, provide logistical support for key initiatives, and ensure alignment between teams, volunteers, and broader church rhythms.
The Care & Prayer Coordinator must be relationally strong, spiritually mature, and able to lead with wisdom and discretion. This position is for someone who is passionate about shepherding people, empowering volunteers, and creating opportunities for deeper engagement in the life of the church.
Position Responsibilities
● Lead and support key initiatives within the Care and Prayer ministries by ensuring smooth execution of events, meetings, and strategic priorities.
● Champion organization and alignment by managing schedules, coordinating meetings, and facilitating communication between teams, volunteers, and leadership.
● Oversee planning and logistics for special events, gatherings, and prayer initiatives, ensuring every detail contributes to an impactful experience.
● Provide insight and research to support strategic decision-making, equipping the Pastor of Care with relevant data and key ministry trends.
● Steward resources wisely by assisting with budget planning, expense tracking, and financial management to maximize ministry effectiveness.
● Train and develop volunteer leaders within the Care and Prayer ministries, equipping them with the tools, vision, and confidence to lead effectively.
● Create and implement leadership pathways to help volunteers grow in spiritual maturity, pastoral care, and intercessory leadership.
● Cultivate a culture of excellence and confidentiality in handling sensitive information, supporting team-wide organization, and maintaining key records.
● Embody the heart and vision of Church of the City New York by modeling servant leadership and upholding the values outlined in the Staff Handbook.
