Tech Lead / Software Architect

CI&T seeks an experienced Tech Lead to work on CI&T engagements for clients in Australia.


The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the technical aspects of our projects, ensuring CI&T provides top-notch technical solutions to our Australian clients. This role involves working closely with project managers and technical teams in Australia, both with CI&T and client teams, but as important, guiding and support our local (Philippines) squads of engineers, to deliver outstanding results.


Key Responsibilities
  • Software Solution Design - The successful candidate will be ready to be hands-on and part of the strategic phases of the engagement, with activities such as:
  • ○ Design end-to-end solutions that align with client business objectives and technical requirements.
  • ○ Ensure the project's adherence to best engineering practices and CI&T’s coding standards.
  • ○ Get hands-on to solve critical problems with the development team.
  • ○ Responsible for ensuring non-functional requirements are fully supported according to global standards and project specifications (performance, security, etc)
  • ○ Define software technical footprint according to business needs and project requirements, considering scalability, performance, security, and usability.
  • ○ Together with the solution/systems architect, evaluate and select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and standards for implementing the architecture, considering technical feasibility and project strategy.
  • ○ Collaborate with development teams, providing guidance and technical support to ensure the correct implementation of the proposed architecture.
  • ○ Identify technical risks and propose solutions to mitigate them, anticipating potential problems and challenges during software development.
  • ○ Conduct code reviews and ensure compliance with architectural guidelines and development best practices.
  • ○ Manage the architectural backlog, including technical debt, improvements, and platform evolutions, and prioritise them on the product roadmap.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Australia and nearshore locations, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and teamwork.
  • Documentation: Create detailed technical documentation, including diagrams, specifications
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure high-quality solutions are delivered and meet functional and non-functional requirements.


Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience:
  • ○ 7+ years of experience in software development and architecture on web solutions focused, with at least 2 years in a tech lead, software architect, tech principal or similar role. A coder by heart, having coded, implemented and tested multiple web applications on a large scale and/or complex requirements/environments
  • ○ Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for software development.
  • ○ Proven and solid experience with non-functional requirements for modern web applications.
  • ○ Strong software engineering background with hands-on coding experience.
  • ○ Proven & solid experience with modern web front and backend technologies (including javascript frameworks, Reac/node.js or any other modern web tech stack)
  • ○ Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud), microservices architecture, APIs, integration, non-functional requirements, and modern web technologies, along with data platforms and related software architecture web design patterns

  • Business Acumen: Ability to understand and translate business requirements into technical solutions that deliver measurable value.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Certifications: Relevant industry and advanced certifications are a plus.

Additional Information
  • Salary Offered: Commensurate with experience
  • Benefits: To be discussed during the interview
  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 days working from home)
  • Shift Schedule: Day Shift (9:00AM - 6:00PM); 9 hours a day, 5 days a week
  • Interview Arrangement: All interviews are being held remotely through Google Meet.
