The Citywide Services division is an interdisciplinary team who works directly with Parks Leadership, to ensure operational excellence for Agency Facilities. Through the Divisions integrated approach, we assess, plan, and implement facility improvement projects to improve the Agency service delivery while being a leader towards greenhouse gas emission reduction. Major Responsibilities
- Under administrative direction of the Citywide Chief of Operations with wide latitude to exercise independent judgement and decisions, support the management, operations and coordination of Citywide Capital, Citywide Sustainability, and Citywide Stationary Engineering work units.
- Participate in the formulation of long-term goals and develop policy to ensure coordination and effective delivery of services from the Citywide Services division
- Analyze division processes and create efficiencies, establish performance metrics and identify best practices and overlaps to maximize productivity.
- Identify new need priorities for the Division, prepare justification towards Parks Leadership support and finalize submission packages to OMB.
- Coordinate with the Assistant Commissioner, Chiefs, and agency partners to maximize the implementation of the annual budget and ensure that all projects meet the needs of project stakeholders, such as the Agency, the public and regulatory authorities.
- Coordinate with DCAS to identify and fund greenhouse gas emission reduction projects.
- Administer a multi-disciplinary team of architects, engineers, and administrative staff in the successful implementation of Parks Capital and Expense funded projects.
- Work with Assistant Commissioner, Chief of Operations and other Agency partners to prioritize work of Units under supervision
- Work with Team Directors to prioritize staff assignments to maximize Teams efficiency.
- Monitor projects progress and communicate/coordinate with supporting work units to ensure the timely completion of multiple projects within their respective budgets and schedules.
- Serve as a liaison to Parks Borough Operations, other divisions and other agencies, including DCAS, DEP, and OMB. Communicate updates and division initiatives.
- Represent projects and the Agency to outside organizations such as community boards, community interest groups and other City or State agencies.

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four (4) years of full-time paid experience in: park management, park or urban rehabilitation, urban or regional planning, forestry or horticulture, landscape architecture, or a related field, at least 18 months of which must have been in an administrative, managerial or executive capacity, or in supervision of professional staff working in one or more of the above mentioned areas; or
2. Education and/or experience equivalent to “1” above. However, all candidates must possess the 18 months of administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory experience as described in “1” above.
