Roadway Repair and Maintenance is seeking a Fiscal Unit Supervisor who thrives in a fast-paced environment and embodies the following key qualities: good organization, detail-oriented, problem solver, and a customer service mindset.
Under the direction of the Director of Administration, the RRM Fiscal Unit Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the day-to day operations of the fiscal team. This unit is responsible for procuring goods and services to support the entire RRM division which includes over 25 units across the five boroughs.
The Fiscal Unit Supervisor’s direct responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Communicate and collaborate closely with DOT Accounts Payable, ACCO, and MOCs to ensure RRM’s contract, procurement, and payment processing needs are monitored and managed.
- Ensure each fiscal officer is up to date with order requests including the maintenance of their PO tracking logs, monitoring of deliveries, submission of receiving reports, etc.
- Work closely with the Director of Administration regarding fiscal assignments, priority orders, and possible delays in deliveries of goods or services.
- Monitor and analyze weekly encumbrance reports and compare them to FMS, Info Advantage reports, and PO Trackers.
- Onboard and train new fiscal team members as well as lead refresher trainings with existing fiscal staff regarding new systems and updated processes or policies.
- Monitor OTPS budget balances using FMS, Info Advantage, and DOT Budget spreadsheets.
- Submit Budget modifications to ensure adequate available funding for purchases.
- Reconcile monthly fuel usage and calculate projected expenditure.
- Enter budget requests, budget modifications, and purchase order information into RRM Budget Tracker daily
- Reconcile RRM Budget Tracker using FMS, Info Advantage Reports, and DOT Budget Encumbrance and Uncommitted Balance Reports.
- Submit end-of-fiscal year Rolls and Accruals Report
- Manage City Time for fiscal unit staff.

Hours: 35 Hours/Week
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, accredited by regional, national, professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), including or supplemented by 24 semester credits in accounting, including one course each in advanced accounting and auditing; or
2. A valid New York State Certified Public Accountant license.
To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level II individuals must have, in addition to meeting the minimum requirements, at least one year of experience as an Accountant - Assignment Level I or at least two years of satisfactory full-time professional accounting or auditing experience.
