Under the aegis of the NYC Department of Investigation (DOI), the NYCHA Office of the Inspector General (OIG) conducts confidential and sensitive investigations into allegations of fraud, corruption, misconduct, and other improper activities by NYCHA employees, residents, and contractors. OIG also conducts proactive and systemic investigations of NYCHA’s operations, policies, and finances, which result in broad-based policy recommendations as well as significant financial recoveries and criminal prosecutions.
Under supervision with limited latitude for independent judgment, NYCHA-OIG is seeking a Secretary whose duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
1. Answer phone calls and redirect them when necessary.
2. Undertake occasional receptionist duties.
3. Prepare file for Vendor Name Check (VNC) request.
4. Conduct research of vendors using PASSPort, Lexis Nexis, and other databases.
5. Develop and maintain a filing system for the NYCHA-OIG.
6. Perform data entry in Case Management System (CMS).
7. Develop and maintain logs of cases and referrals in Excel and other databases.
8. Perform timekeeping duties in Kronos.
