The Senior Advisor to the First Deputy Commissioner will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the divisions overseen by the First Deputy Commissioner. This includes Administration, Strategic Partnerships, Community Development, Planning, Program Integration & Evaluation, Youth Services, Workforce Connect, and Human Capital. The Senior Advisor will act as a key advisor, strategist, and implementer, supporting the First Deputy Commissioner in executing the agency’s mission and strategic goals. With wide latitude for independent judgment and decision-making, the Senior Advisor will assist in the development and implementation of accountability metrics to ensure accomplishments of the agency’s goals as well as smooth, effective, and efficient operations. In addition, the Senior Advisor will provide strategic direction with respect to coordination of new initiatives, agencywide projects, as well as the development and amendment of multi-year plans and improvement strategies for the agency.
The position will:
-Strategic Planning and Execution:
Assist in the development and implementation of strategic plans for the divisions under the First Deputy Commissioner.
Monitor progress and ensure alignment with DYCD’s overall mission and objectives.
-Operational Management:
Oversee day-to-day operations of the First Deputy Commissioner’s office.
Coordinate and manage special projects and initiatives across the divisions.
-Communication and Coordination:
Serve as a representative of the First Deputy Commissioner for internal and external stakeholders.
Facilitate communication and collaboration among divisions to ensure seamless operations and information flow.
Prepare presentations, take notes, and track action items for meetings
-Policy and Program Development:
Support the development and implementation of policies and programs that enhance the agency’s service delivery.
Conduct research and analysis to inform decision-making and policy development.
-Performance Management:
Develop and implement performance metrics to track the effectiveness of initiatives and programs.
Provide regular reports and updates to the First Deputy Commissioner.
