The role
As an Engagement Director at ClearPoint, you will be accountable for the successful strategic execution of key client portfolios or large-scale programmes. You'll ensure the quality, profitability, and foster exceptional client outcomes across all assigned accounts, acting as a pivotal link between ClearPoint's delivery capabilities and our clients' strategic objectives. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will build strong executive-level relationships and collaboratively manage resources and strategy alongside Client and Technical Directors within our tripartite leadership model.
The experience we’re looking for:
• Extensive Senior Leadership (15+ years): Proven executive-level experience managing complex technology/digital/consulting programme delivery, client operations, or large portfolios (multi-million dollar budgets) with P&L responsibility.
• Strong Commercial Acumen: Deep understanding of professional services economics (utilisation, rates, margins, SOWs), budget management, financial forecasting, and commercial negotiation to ensure profitability and commercial viability.
• Executive Relationship Management: Demonstrated ability to build trust and influence C-level stakeholders over extended periods.
• Delivery & Methodologies: Expertise in tailoring and applying delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.), resource planning, risk management, and contributing significantly to pre-sales cycles (solutioning, estimation, proposals).
• Strategic Growth & Pre-Sales Expertise: Demonstrated ability to proactively identify and pursue expansion opportunities within client accounts. Significant experience contributing to pre-sales cycles, including solution shaping, effort estimation, risk assessment, and developing compelling proposals. Proven ability to drive growth through delivery excellence and strategic account planning.
• Collaborative Leadership: Ability to lead, influence, and delegate effectively within matrixed teams, fostering consensus and driving results in ambiguous environments.
• Strategic & Results-Oriented: Strong strategic thinking, balancing client needs, delivery quality, team well-being, and commercial outcomes. Alignment with ClearPoint's values is essential.
What you'll be doing:
• Strategic Delivery, Consulting & Commercial Oversight: Set engagement strategy, oversee successful delivery across your portfolio, contribute directly through governance & executive consulting activities, manage financial performance (margins, forecasting), ensure quality, and manage risk. This role carries a billable utilisation target through direct engagement, leadership and contribution.
• Executive Client Management & Growth: Build and maintain C-level relationships, manage expectations, act as an escalation point, and proactively identify/pursue expansion opportunities.
• Collaborative Leadership & Resourcing: Lead resource planning and allocation in collaboration with internal leaders (Client Directors, Technical Directors, Practice Directors, Head of Talent & Culture) and provide oversight to delivery teams.
• Process Adherence & Improvement: Ensure engagements follow ClearPoint standards and contribute to refining our delivery best practices.
