Hours - Please note this is a part time role 4 days per week/32 hours weekly

Pay - CYN 315,000 per annum DOE

Role

The Senior Communications and Marketing Specialist is responsible for designing and implementing the China Communications and Marketing Strategy. Leading the communications on Climate Bonds market development and engagement in China with target multiple audiences, including investors, policy makers, funders, partners, media and relevant stakeholders within the green finance space.

The role will lead and manage China communications and marketing across Climate Bonds, focusing on both long-term strategies and shorter-term project delivery. 

The role sits in the Global Communications and Marketing team and will report to the Global Head of Communications.  It will work closely with the China team, to successfully lead on maximizing impact in China through communications and marketing campaigns, tactics, initiatives and projects.

The role will also coordinate and liaise with core teams including Standards, Certifications, Market Intelligence and Policy to ensure outputs are aligned with Climate Bonds overarching strategy.

Working as a core member of the Global Communications and Marketing Team, the role will lead, devise, plan, coordinate and implement multi-channel communications and marketing campaigns for the China market. 

  • Lead the development and delivery of communications and marketing plans for the China market in line with Climate Bonds regional objectives and specific project objectives.
  • Enable and support the Global Communications & Marketing team to connect and integrate China priorities with Global priorities.
  • Work closely and effectively with the Global Communications and Marketing team and the China team to plan and achieve successful outcomes in line with agreed business objectives and team wide objectives.
  • Coordinate with core teams and their Communications Champions, including Regions, Standards, Certification, Policy, Training, Market Intelligence, to integrate plans and activities.
  • Deliver, and work with colleagues to deliver, communications and marketing campaign activities for China including press releases; blogs; launches; announcements; webinars; podcasts; developing and managing content for website and social media channels (especially WeChat); promotion of workshops and events; social media management and building relationships with key media.
  • Lead and provide support to the Events team with the annual Connect Series of events in the region, including coordination of suppliers such as photographers, videographers, venues and tech team pre, during and post event, plus, lead the promotion of the event including press coordination pre, during and post event and generation of content.
  • Monitor and measure the results of activity to inform in-campaign as well as future planning.
  • Monitor the marketplace to identify topics, trends, storylines, and associated events to inform activities and maximise opportunities.
  • Act as a brand guardian, ensuring consistent messaging and branding in the China market.
  • Extensive experience in communications and marketing planning and delivery
  • Proficient in Mandarin and English
  • 3 years’ experience in an international role
  • Excellent ability and experience working collaboratively across diverse global teams
  • Understanding of climate finance, role of private finance and green, social sustainable and transition investment in emissions reduction and net zero policy & targets
  • Strong project management skills and ability to coordinate and prioritise
  • Excellent written and editorial skills across styles and platforms
  • Strong video recording and editing skills
  • Experience managing media relationships and dealing with journalists
  • Solid understanding of contemporary social media practices, platforms and processes in China
  • Strong online, CMS/CRM, web platform understanding and skill base
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
