Benefits Administrator

The mission of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is to work collaboratively toward the prevention of homelessness and the creation of lasting solutions for homeless and at-risk families, children, and individuals throughout Colorado. The Coalition advocates for and provides a continuum of housing and a variety of services to improve the health, well-being, and stability of those it serves.


Reporting to the Total Rewards Manager, the Benefits Administrator will manage the day-to-day operations of Colorado Coalition for the Homeless (CCH) benefits and deliver outstanding employee engagement through administering health benefits, retirement & wellness programs, leave of absences, ADA reasonable accommodations and CCH policies. The role will support the design and implementation of wellness and health education initiatives.

The effective date for your benefits will be the first of the month following your date of hire.


Essential Job Functions 
  • Complete administration of all benefit programs to ensure compliance with regulations and plan provisions (including vendor communication, invoice reconciliation, draft communication materials, plan document review, answer questions, etc.).
  • Act as a main point of contact for employee questions and problem resolutions.
  • Provide exceptional service to all customers. Effective communication with team members in a timely manner to respond to team member’s benefits, leave and reasonable accommodation related questions, issues and concerns.
  • Provide guidance and support to help employees understand and utilize their benefits.
  • In partnership with our third-party administrator, administer all aspects of CCH’s Leave of Absence (LOA) programs, including non-FMLA medical leave, FMLA, CO FAMLI, and other state/local leaves.
  • Administer workers’ compensation claims, track employee status and submit paperwork in accordance with the State’s policy and guidelines.
  • Conduct new hire benefits presentations. Explain enrollment options and guide employees to make informed decisions.
  • Conduct regular benefit-related and payroll-related audits to ensure compliance and data accuracy.
  • Process, verify and audit benefits enrollment information.
  • Assist with the annual open enrollment process, including communications and training.
  • Other duties/projects as assigned.


Qualifications Summary 
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in benefits (including health and retirement and wellness plans), FMLA, CO FAMLI, and other state/local leaves.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word); to include advanced MS Excel skills (Pivot-Tables, VLOOKUP’s, etc).
  • Maintain knowledge and expertise on benefits trends.
  • Knowledge of leave requirements and other legal protections afforded by the FMLA, CO FAMLI, ADA, and other applicable leave laws.
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-changing environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.


$65,500 - $80,000 a year
