THE POSITION
As an Industrial Engineer Intern, you will assist the Engineering Department in activities to help meet goals for the department.
Responsibilities
Project work involving process related issues, modifying equipment to ensure ESH standards
Participate in:
The achievement of manufacturing engineering targets according to internal and external customer expectations
Continuous improvement activities by applying CBS methods and training measures
Local manufacturing engineering related and cross-functional projects
Other projects and duties as assigned
Participate in design and implement overall factory processes:
Production concept (line vs. job shop organization)
Design of plant/operations unit layout (ex: factory, workplace
Factory simulation (ex: manufacturing and logistics processes, ergonomics, etc.) or
Product cost calculation according to lean principles and standards
Provide feedback and input for further development of standards regarding manufacturing engineering
Production processes (production flow plan, production control plan, work instructions, standardized work chart, standardized work combination table, job instruction sheet, process parameters, materials)
Production equipment (machines, human machine interface, ergonomics equipment, layout)
Logistics (material handling and storage technologies)
Quality (test methods, equipment)
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Pursing a degree, preferably in production or engineering management, industrial/mechanical engineering or related discipline
1-2 years of classroom/business experience in mechanical/industrial engineering functions.
Basic knowledge of LEAN production/Continuous improvement principles, project management, quality management, product knowledge and manufacturing engineering systems and methods
Advanced knowledge of manufacturing related technologies, systems, infrastructures, standards and processes; problem solving and decision-making tools and techniques
Experience with MS Office/Excel/PowerPoint
Ability to communicate with all employee levels
Ability to organize and prioritize work and tasks and work independently
