Solutions Engineer (Transmission Infrastructure)

Continuum Industries is revolutionizing sustainable infrastructure development with our SaaS solution, Optioneer. Since our inception in 2018, we’ve powered the planning of over 30,000 miles of transmission infrastructure spanning underground and subsea power cables, overhead lines, and hydrogen and water pipelines. Optioneer helps major organizations across the globe to build critical infrastructure faster, with greater confidence.


Building off our $10M Series A investment and rapid growth in the UK and Europe, we have expanded to the US to meet increasing demand. We’re seeking a Solutions Engineer to join our mission of transforming infrastructure development for the utilities and renewables sectors.


What You'll Do:

As a Solutions Engineer, you’ll be the bridge between Optioneer and the technical needs of our enterprise customers with the majority of your time spent:


-Aligning Optioneer’s capabilities with customers’ technical and strategic goals.

-Crafting tailored demonstrations, commercial proposals and rollout plans.

-Driving adoption of Optioneer as the new standard in project development.


You’ll play a critical role in competitive bidding, project development, and optimizing interconnection strategies for our growing US customer base, which already includes industry leaders like National Grid, BP, and Iberdola.

We’re looking for a hands-on, proactive problem-solver with experience in enterprise solutions engineering - particularly with experience in an industry resistant to change. You’re someone who thrives in complexity, excels at navigating technical and interpersonal challenges, and brings creativity and precision to every project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as technical authority in commercial conversations, being the go-to person for technical queries and upskilling the wider GTM team on Optioneer and its key applications.
  • Develop relationships with commercial and stakeholders, gather requirements and articulate the value that Optioneer can provide to specific teams.
  • Develop and deliver convincing and compelling technical demonstrations of Optioneer.
  • Identify gaps and prototype creative solutions to satisfy core customer requirements.
  • Position proposals and roll-out plans towards long-term success.
  • Work actively with the Product team, inform the roadmap and act as the ‘voice’ of our prospects.


Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience in B2B enterprise sales and management of multi-faceted change processes.
  • Comfortable with technical discovery and scoping of customer requirements for large organizations.
  • Prior experience delivering solutions for complex - often competing - customer requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills which include writing, presentation of professional deliverables.
  • Examples of high quality, creative contributions in terms of technical win of a sale.


Bonus points for:
  • Experience working in the energy or utilities sector with an understanding of its challenges and organisations operating within it.
  • Educational or professional background in engineering, project development, data science or environmental sciences.
  • Understanding of working with geospatial data providers across multiple states in the US.
  • Past experience working with automation workflows, system-based approaches to projects or physical infrastructure developments.


$100,000 - $130,000 a year
