This role will be directly involved in growing Control Risks’ business in Canada, working with Control Risks’ global teams and helping clients with their political, reputational, operational and security risks. The Associate – Account Success - will support and enhance business development and account management as a member of the broader Account Success team across the US and Canada, with a specific focus on Control Risks’ Canadian client base and their global investments and operations.
Control Risks seeks to build and maintain trusted relationships with its clients. The Account Success team supports the business in achieving objectives by assisting with building client relationships and engaging at all stages of the sales cycle to drive business development. The role is a developmental one that seeks to understand client needs, and to provide solutions and follow up to both internal and external sources, with responsibilities growing progressively over time. The successful candidate will be intellectually curious, with the aptitude to develop such that in time they are able to identify opportunities across the full breadth of Control Risks’ services globally. This individual will play a key role in client relationship management, acting as a key account contact for specific clients. The career development pathway of this position is toward client management, or consulting.
Role tasks and responsibilities
- Join more senior Control Risks people in client meetings, assisting with identifying opportunities and helping to ensure timely, comprehensive follow-up
- Identify client needs and push key service line priorities as solutions to those clients in order to drive continuous revenue
- Provide high-volume outreach and support for identified clients, leveraging all appropriate channels of communication
- Support account management teams in the development and maintenance of client account plans and the prioritization of client engagement and activity across Canada.
- Alignment of global sales initiatives to key objectives in the Canadian market
- Provide more senior colleagues with market research and analysis including strategic trends and longer-term opportunities as well as immediate-term tactical information for direct client engagement (e.g., client briefs, background research, key contacts, relevant news analysis). · Liaise with colleagues throughout Control Risks to maintain momentum of the sales cycle from marketing, prospecting, lead generation and qualification to account follow-up
- Support and facilitate administration of sales programs (e.g., Managed Account Program, Legal Buyer Program)
- Execute sales of commoditized solutions and services Address client inquiries in a timely, effective and professional manner.
Role requirements
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada
- Understanding of or experience in the risk consultancy sector, international business, or a degree in a relevant field
- Career experience may include internships, account management, or customer service
- Experience with account management or client-facing coordination and communication
- Experience providing sales support to both external and internal clients
- Understanding of data compilation and report generation
- Ability to work in a complex, challenging and matrix business environment.
- Fluency in French or another second language preferred
- Experience in business development and client relationship building preferred
- Knowledge of business processes and systems used by professional services firms preferred
- Working knowledge of account management principles and sales cycles preferred
- Use of CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems in marketing automation preferred
- Experience undertaking and producing client research preferred
- Experience using business data analytic tools (Power BI, etc.) preferred
Qualifications and specialist skills:
- Bachelor’s degree (post-graduate degree in a relevant field a plus)
- Expert user of Microsoft suite of business tools (Dynamics 365, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI, etc.) Adobe, SharePoint, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, etc.
