Manager, Land Acquisition

This is a fully remote role for candidates who are based outside of the New York Metropolitan area. For those located in the area, we encourage you to consider our hybrid work arrangement (1-2 days a week in our NYC office). At Convergent Energy and Power, our mission is to make the electrical grid cleaner, more reliable, and less expensive by leveraging state-of-the-art energy storage and distributed generation technologies.

The Manager of Land Acquisition is responsible for the acquisition campaigns to facilitate the development of energy storage, solar, and solar-plus-storage projects. This role focuses on campaign execution, conducting initial outreach to landowners, and providing operational and administrative support. Operating under the guidance of senior staff, the Manager plays a critical role in ensuring successful land acquisition efforts by coordinating with third-party agents, internal teams, and external stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

Campaign Support and Execution

  • Assist with executing land acquisition campaigns, including conducting research and preparing materials.
  • Leverage GIS tools to support campaign scoping, site development, and environmental due diligence under guidance.
  • Perform initial outreach to landowners and support negotiations by preparing draft agreements and other documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop marketing materials and ensure alignment with campaign strategies.


Stakeholder Coordination

  • Serve as a point of contact for third-party land agents, providing support and collecting necessary data to track progress.
  • Coordinate landowner meetings and document interactions in CRM tools like HubSpot.
  • Address preliminary questions and provide information to landowners regarding project plans and benefits.


Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of land acquisition activities, including landowner communications, agreements, and due diligence materials.
  • Assist with preparing campaign progress reports and presentations for senior leadership.
  • Update CRM tools to ensure all landowner interactions and acquisition activities are properly recorded.


Collaboration and Process Improvement

  • Work closely with senior land acquisition team members to align campaigns with organizational goals and identify areas for improvement.
  • Support cross-functional teams, including origination, pre-construction, and legal, by ensuring the required documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Participate in team meetings to provide updates and receive direction on ongoing campaigns.


Risk Mitigation

  • Identify potential risks in land acquisition campaigns, such as gaps in documentation or compliance issues, and escalate them to senior staff.
  • Assist in developing solutions for minor campaign inefficiencies as part of continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in land acquisition, real estate, or project coordination roles.
  • Basic understanding of land-use regulations, permitting processes, and real estate law.
  • Familiarity with GIS tools and the ability to conduct site evaluations under supervision.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, including proficiency in CRM tools like HubSpot.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy development processes or related industries.
  • Basic experience reviewing real estate documents such as deeds, titles, and abstracts.

Base Salary Range: $105,000- $120,000; Salary Commensurate with Qualifications and Experience.
