About Cool Earth
Cool Earth is an NGO that backs people to protect rainforests and fight the climate crisis. We believe that the state of the rainforest will continue to worsen if indigenous peoples and local communities continue to be marginalised. Whilst these people comprise less than 5% of the world’s population, they manage or have rights to 25% of the Earth’s land area and protect an estimated 80% of global biodiversity. Cool Earth delivers programmes and has developed networks in the three largest expanses of rainforest in the world: the Amazon, the New Guinea forest and the Congo Basin.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Cool Earth's dynamic and growing team in Peru. You will promote Cool Earth’s work by telling stories of what is happening in the Peruvian communities we work with, focusing on people, rainforest and climate.
The stories and updates you share will make up an important part of the global communications and fundraising strategies so that we can inspire more people around the world to donate, so we can protect even more rainforest.
As part of the Fundraising and Engagement team, the Communications Coordinator
will work collaboratively with local staff, communities and with several Indigenous partners to deliver compelling and engaging content for all Cool Earth platforms, from social media and the website to emails, press and reports.
This position requires someone who is creative, collaborative and a confident and diplomatic communicator, with an understanding of and commitment to ethical content creation and community centric communications.
This position will be based in Lima, Peru and the salary range is between S/. 4,500 and S/. 6,500 soles.
