Program Coordinator - Environmental Equity

This is a grant funded position. Working under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Program Coordinator provides programmatic and administrative support to help achieve the goals and objectives of the CORE’s California Climate Action Volunteer Program. The position is expected to last 8 months. 

• Coordinates and maintains applicable program schedules and agendas; which may include tracking deadlines, deliverables, communication with management and/or stakeholders.  
• Interfaces with other departments, staff, leaders and/or partners in program administration. Provide coordination of applicable logistics or information.  
• Organizes, coordinates, develops, and attends all featured events, outreach activities, meetings and materials/collateral, in the promotion and administration of the California Climate Action Volunteer Program. Occasional weekends required. May actively represent the program and/or the organization. 
• Helps foster a collaborative and positive relationship building dynamic with internal staff and external parties.  
• Interface with other departments, vendors and applicable community parties as needed.  
• Advance proficiency in Canva for the creation of community engagement materials 
• Knowledge of Excel for recording program metrics 
• Other duties as assigned. 

• Reports to California Climate Action Volunteer Program Manager 
• Travel will include local travel to program events, and inter-state travel for occasional training, conferences, and partner or co-hosted program activities 

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental health, emergency management, climate science, sustainability or a related field, or at least two years of equivalent experience in relevant field.   

• Minimum 1-2 years experience in disaster preparedness, emergency management, climate action/resilience, environmental sciences, sustainability, or related field 
• Experience in presenting and creating workshop materials to various populations 
• Experience working with community-based organizations, local government agencies, volunteer groups in LA, Riverside, San Bernardino County preferred 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
• Proficient in MS Office applications 
• Flexible and adaptive to a frequently changing environment 
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills 
• Close attention to detail and a high level of accuracy 
• Bilingual a plus (Spanish or Mandarin preferred)
