Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a team of Regional Sales Managers, setting clear expectations and driving a results-oriented sales culture focused on achieving growth targets.
- Develop and implement aggressive sales strategies for SmartLab, with a focus on penetrating new markets, expanding current accounts, and securing key partnerships within the Eastern US.
- Build and execute a structured sales pipeline to ensure consistent revenue generation, monitoring progress toward quarterly and annual targets, and adjusting strategies as necessary to meet or exceed goals.
- Take a hands-on approach to selling by cultivating relationships with key decision-makers in school districts, educational institutions, and potential partner organizations to secure new business and drive individual sales growth.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Product & Academics, and the Customer Care teams to effectively position SmartLab’s offerings, ensuring the messaging aligns with customer needs and market demands.
- Develop and lead regular performance reviews with the sales team, identifying areas for improvement, coaching for success, and implementing training programs to enhance product knowledge, sales tactics, and closing techniques.
- Analyze market trends, customer feedback, and competitive activity to continuously refine sales strategies, ensuring SmartLab maintains a competitive edge in the evolving K-12 education space.
- Utilize a robust reporting system to track key metrics, sales performance, and forecasts, providing regular updates to senior leadership and making data-driven adjustments to optimize team performance.
- Drive a culture of accountability, ensuring that sales reps remain motivated and aligned with company goals, while fostering a sense of urgency and adaptability in a competitive market.
- Support the launch and adoption of new products, ensuring the sales team is fully equipped with the tools, training, and support needed to introduce and sell new and existing product offerings effectively.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, education or related field required.
- 5+ years of experience managing and growing high-performing sales teams.
- Proven track record in sales leadership, with strong preference for the K-12 education sector or similar industries.
- Currently living in the Eastern United States (roughly east of the Mississippi River) required.
- Previous experience with Salesforce, Sales Gong, HubSpot and/or other CRMs for maximizing customer and sales data.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage both team dynamics and personal sales targets.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.

- Base salary range: $125,000-$150,000 annually plus commission
