We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Compliance Specialist to oversee and ensure regulatory compliance within our construction projects. The Compliance Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs, ensuring the company adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations, industry standards, and internal policies. This role requires a strong understanding of construction laws and risk management strategies to mitigate legal and operational risks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and standards related to construction projects
- Stay current with changes in construction laws and other relevant legal requirements
- Implement and maintain a compliance management system to assess, monitor, and enforce adherence to regulatory standards
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address compliance-related concerns proactively
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation related to compliance programs, policies, and procedures
- Prepare regular compliance reports for internal stakeholders, highlighting areas of risk, non-compliance, and improvement initiatives
- Prepare regular compliance reports for external stakeholders meeting contractual requirements
- Support internal and external audits to verify compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Investigate any suspected violations or incidents and provide recommendations for corrective actions
Business Development/Client Relations
- Provide guidance on contractual clauses related to compliance and risk management
- Liaise with regulatory agencies, legal teams, and external consultants on compliance-related matters
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory inquiries or inspections
Talent Development
- Design and oversee training programs to ensure new hires and existing employees are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to meet compliance and regulatory standards
P&L Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and managing the Compliance budget, ensuring that compliance activities are cost-effective and aligned with the company's financial objectives
- Monitor compliance-related expenses, including auditing, training, and risk mitigation initiatives, and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising on compliance standards
- Analyze the financial impact of compliance risks and regulatory violations, including potential fines, penalties, and legal fees, and provide recommendations for strategies to mitigate these risks
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assess compliance-related costs in construction projects, ensuring that regulatory requirements do not negatively affect project profitability
Cross-Functional Management
- Work closely with project managers and construction teams to ensure compliance requirements are integrated into all project phases—from planning and procurement to execution and close-out
- Serve as a liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on compliance objectives and successful project delivery
- Advise senior leadership, project managers, and department heads on compliance-related risks and how they can impact overall project timelines, costs, and operational performance
- Design and deliver training programs to educate employees, subcontractors, and stakeholders on compliance standards and regulations
- Lead or coordinate cross-departmental training sessions on compliance topics relevant to different teams, ensuring that all departments are aligned in understanding their roles in maintaining compliance
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline compliance processes, implement best practices, and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements across the organization

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Construction Management, Business Administration, Law, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in compliance management
- Ability to interpret and apply complex legal and regulatory frameworks
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), compliance management software, and audit tools
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) or other relevant certification(s)

A reasonable estimate of the range for this role is $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 Starting rate of pay may vary based on various factors, including, but not limited to an individual's experience and expertise. Certain roles are also eligible for bonuses, subject to CS Energy’s discretion and based on factors such as individual and/or organizational performance.
