Business Development Representative

Role and Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, research, and prioritize leads and prospects from multiple sources, including marketing campaigns, as sales opportunities.
  • Identify the needs and challenges of the leads and prospects.
  • Proactively research and analyze available situational information (ZoomInfo, company website, social media, industry articles, etc.) to help personalize communications.
  • Contact leads and prospects through cold calls, emails and other effective types of outreach.
  • Set up meetings or calls between prospective clients and Client Executives (Sales).
  • Report results/progress against goals to the Sales Operations Manager weekly.
  • Properly enter and manage lead, prospect, and opportunity records within CRM(s).
  • Nurture leads and prospects that meet specific criteria or thresholds.
  • Deliver presentations which are concise, compelling, and valuable in the eyes of the lead or prospect.
  • Develop, foster and sustain strong relationships as trusted advisor with potential clients.
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market.
  • Stay up to date with new products/services and new pricing/payment plans.
  • Help form and be a member of a successful sales team which drives Datex’s revenue, client growth and client satisfaction.
  • Position Datex's product and services portfolio which maximizes revenue, client growth and client satisfaction by leveraging a team selling model, a proactive, preemptive and consultative client engagement model, and an established sales process.
  • Follow established handoff procedures as applicable for Sales to ensure Prospects efficiently, transparently, and fluidly transition from BD to Sales.

To be successful in this role, you must be located in the United States and you must be authorized to work for U.S. companies without sponsorship.

Preferred Skills

  • Direct supply chain industry experience a plus, at minimum an understanding of the supply chain industry
  • Knowledge of business processes and organizational structures
  • Desire to learn, grow and excel in the role
  • Excellent phone, writing and listening skills
  • Familiarity with HubSpot CRM
  • High comfort level with technology / tools
  • Proven success in reaching or exceeding goals/quotas

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years professional experience working in Business Development
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Medical, Vision, Dental and Life/Disability Insurance available
