Computer User Support Specialist - 505752

DNI is seeking a Computer User Support Specialist to support The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) RX Directorate. The CUSS will provide technical assistance and support for end-users at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of IT support practices, troubleshooting procedures, and a proactive attitude towards solving problems. You will play a key role in supporting the AFRL mission by ensuring the reliability and performance of computer systems across the directorate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Tier I and Tier II IT support to AFRL/RX personnel, including hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.
  • Configure, install, maintain, and upgrade computer systems, peripherals, and software.
  • Support end-users with technical assistance in person, over the phone, or via remote access tools.
  • Document incidents, service requests, and resolutions in the ticketing system (e.g., Remedy, ServiceNow).
  • Ensure systems and user accounts comply with DoD cybersecurity policies and procedures.
  • Assist with inventory tracking, equipment lifecycle management, and system imaging.
  • Coordinate with higher-level IT teams for escalated issues and system upgrades.
  • Support secure system configurations, apply patches, and perform regular updates.
  • Participate in cybersecurity compliance efforts, including STIG implementation and vulnerability remediation.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support or a related role.
  • Active CompTIA Security+ certification (or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification).
  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, Active Directory, and basic networking concepts.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting government or military IT environments.
  • Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity practices and system accreditation processes.
  • Experience with remote desktop tools, system imaging (SCCM), and ticketing systems.
