Role: PHP Developer

Location: Erie PA

Responsibilities:

• Develop software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following an agile software development lifecycle
• Maintain current production systems
• Work with lead engineers to accurately estimate the scope and effort required to deliver complex projects
• Work with product managers and fellow engineers to come up with creative solutions
• Act as a senior-level engineering coder and guide other software engineers on the team
• Participate in code reviews, design sessions, technical root cause analysis and scrum meetings
• Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions
• Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues
• Document and demonstrate solutions by developing records, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code
• Update job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment
• Protect operations by keeping information confidential

Skills & Qualifications:

• Proficient in PHP 7
• Strong experience in PHP frameworks, such as Symfony, Laravel, Zend
• Proficient in MySQL and relational database design
• Fluent in HTML5, CSS3
• Deep working knowledge of Javascript; NodeJS experience is a plus
• Experience with ReactJS (or equivalent framework) is preferred
• Strong understanding of OOP concepts, design patterns and programming best practices
• Strong experience building and consuming REST web services
• Experience developing and supporting enterprise class or high availability systems
• Familiar with Git – merging, branching, etc.
• Familiar with Composer, NPM, Webpack
• Experience in using nginx and/or Apache
• Familiar with Redis, Memcached
• Some experience with AWS, Ansible and/or Docker is preferred
• Very comfortable in Linux command line

Education and Experience:

• A minimum of 5+ years of working as a full stack PHP developer is required
• A minimum of five years related work experience is required, including at least two years in a senior engineering role
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject such as computation, software engineering or information technology
