Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Data Warehouse Security and Management Specialist responsible for overseeing the security model on Linux DW ETL servers, managing Teradata security, and ensuring reliable data availability for critical business processes. This role is key in supporting the State of Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Data Warehouses.
- Manage complex Linux security models on DW ETL servers, including user access to groups and sudo permissions.
- Oversee Teradata security and access controls.
- Maintain the Common Batch Framework and Scheduler to ensure the reliability of data for business processes and decision-making.
- Handle Data Warehouse change management infrastructure, including code and DDL promotions through both manual and automated processes.
- Lead the migration of separate MDHHS DWs to Common Processes, supporting various program areas.
- Ensure adherence to DW standards and processes in line with SOM policies and procedures.
- Conduct elevated access and user audits, and mitigate any audit findings.
- Provide input to System Security Plans (SSPs) and manage Data Warehouse Continuity Planning and testing.
- Offer support for escalated Data Warehouse issue troubleshooting and resolution.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Experience supporting one or more State of Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Data Warehouses.
- Minimum 12 years of experience with Teradata.
- Minimum 10 years of experience with SQL and shell scripting.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Linux.
- Demonstrated ability to independently make decisions consistent with State of Michigan and MDHHS/DTMB policies.
- Proven track record of providing targeted training and technical expertise to development teams.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
