In the Yard Position at Dunn Lumber, you will execute the essential operations needed to uphold a safe, clean, accurate, and hospitable environment as material flows in and out of our yards. You will be a part of a highly skilled team that will utilize saws and forklifts to cut and move material, unload and check in material from vendor trucks, load walk-in customer vehicles, and build lumber packages for transfer to other Dunn Lumber locations or delivery to customer jobsites. A fully trained Yard Worker can complete all operational tasks, focus on customer support, and build trust with each employee on staff. This is a Full-Time job working 40 hours per week with overtime eligibility!
Store Hours are Monday - Friday from 6:55 am - 6:05 pm and Saturday from 7:55 am - 5:05 pm.

(M - F 9:30 am - 6:05 pm)
OR
(T - F 9:30 am - 6:05 pm S 7:40 am - 5:05 pm)

Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations
This position has no prerequisite certificates, licenses, or registrations. Forklift and Saw training and certification will be provided.
Technical/Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic competency with computers and math. This includes the ability to enter login credential information, punch in and out for work, operate a barcode scanner, and understand fractions - as it pertains to reading a tape measurer.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is subject to very heavy work. Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The employee is regularly required to stand and/or walk for long periods of time, and required to climb ladders, sit, stoop, kneel, squat, or crouch on occasion. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to hear moving vehicles and forklifts frequently.
Work Environment
This job constantly operates in outdoor weather and in warehouse conditions with occasional entry to and from the retail stores. This environment includes forklifts, tractor-trailers, and customer vehicle traffic. The noise level is moderate to high.
This is an entry-level position with a paid two-week training period and continued learning while employed. The two-week training is completed on-site with your supervisor or at a *Training Yard with the Training Department. The training for this position will focus on product knowledge, Point of Sale software, and yard operations.
*Training hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:00 pm and is required.
