The Golf Instructor will assist with the development and implementation of the golf instruction program for adults and children. This position will provide professional instruction including private golf lessons, group classes, golf club fitting and assist with the marketing of new and existing player development programs for the East Bank Club’s members and guests.
Rate of Pay: 50% commission, plus $17.49 per hour
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Implement and execute all facets of the golf instruction program
- Provide an enjoyable learning, practice, and social experience for members
- Research and incorporate state of the art teaching methods
- Custom fit all types of clubs to individual specifications
- Help to develop, organize, and implement a junior program; tournaments, PGA Junior League Golf, summer programs, individual lessons, rules and etiquette
- Assist with the development of programming designed to attract new and existing golfers
- Assist with the implementation of a men’s and women’s instructional program; clinics and team clinics, individual lessons, rules and etiquette
- Give personal instruction when not engaged in other aspects of the golf instruction program
- Monitor training aids, video equipment, launch monitors, etc. to ensure all are up-to-date and in good working order
- Keep the golf center presentable and notify manager for needed maintenance repairs
- Attend conferences, workshops, meetings, and trade shows to keep abreast of marketing and business trends
- Maintain a credible golf game and remain current on teaching innovations

QUALIFICATIONS / STANDARDS
- Maintain PGA or LPGA of America membership in good standing in an active classification
- Actively pursue PGA membership (if a PGA Associate) in a timely manner through the PGA Professional Golf Management (PGA PGM) program
- Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations
- Fundamental supervisory practices and principles
- Act as a role model for all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all employees
- Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills
- Self-motivated with desire to promote and market
- Service and customer focused attitude
- Experienced in written and oral business communications
- Remain up-to-date on member service standards
- Must be authorized to work in the USA. We use E-Verify.
- Have coaching experience including adults and junior development.
- Have tennis background in competitive play: college, or high-level junior tournament play preferred.
- Must be able to provide outstanding customer service.
- Must have weekend availability and the ability to commit to a regular schedule. Flexibility to substitute for additional hours is a plus.
