Shipping and Receiving Supervisor

Echodyne is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor with extensive experience in both Domestic and International shipments. You will be working in a fast-paced environment. In this position you will be responsible for all shipping and receiving functions. This position requires hands-on work in addition to leading supporting staff to meet daily shipping and receiving needs. Typical hours for this day shift role are 8-4:30pm, Monday through Friday.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate and manage all aspects of the shipment process, including booking, documentation, and customs clearance.
• Communicate effectively with internal contacts and carriers to ensure smooth and timely delivery of goods.
• Arrange transportation and logistics services, such as trucking, shipping, and air freight, to meet the specific needs of each shipment.
• Prepare and process necessary shipping and customs documents, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and export/import documentation.
• Track and monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery and proactively resolve any issues or delays that may arise.
• Provide exceptional customer service by promptly addressing any inquiries or concerns from clients and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to continuously improve the freight forwarding process.
• Other related tasks required to fulfill the needs of the business.

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients, suppliers, and carriers.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
• Attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and compliance with customs regulations.
• Problem-solving skills to handle unexpected issues or delays in the shipment process.
• Proficiency in logistics software and systems to track shipments and generate necessary documentation Experience in lean manufacturing (6S, kanban systems, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of international trade regulations and customs requirements.
• Ability to work well under pressure and in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to achieve common goals.
• Experience with Freight/LTL and palletizing shipments
• Must be familiar with generating customs documents (Commercial Invoice, SLI and EEI)
• Must be able to regularly lift, carry and move equipment, occasionally up to 50 pounds

DESIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE 
(Looking for one or more as a complement to the core skills)

• Experience in working with ESD material
• Experience in setting up and/or improving tracking systems for receiving and shipping products

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent. A degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
• 5 or more years’ experience in freight forwarding or logistics
• Previous lead or supervisory experience in a shipping/receiving environment
• Knowledge of international shipping documentation and customs clearance procedures.
• Significant experience with UPS Worldship, both domestic and international shipping and experience with DHL and FedEx shipments
• Proficiency in computer systems and software used in logistics operations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
• Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment and work with tight deadlines.

The pay range for this position is $40.43 to $60.62 per hour.
