What You'll Do

As an Automation Specialist, you will serve as the go-to technical and commercial expert for PLCs, HMIs, and industrial networking technologies across our territory. You will support sales efforts, drive customer engagement, and build strong partnerships with key vendors like Rockwell Automation.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Acting as a primary resource for pre-sales support, post-sales troubleshooting, and proof of concept development.
  • Advising customers and sales teams on the best automation, HMI, and industrial network solutions to meet application needs.
  • Leading training sessions—both internally and for customers—to boost product knowledge and adoption.
  • Collaborating with peers and vendors to grow market share for key technology lines.
  • Tracking customer projects, conversations, and opportunities in our CRM.
  • Driving strategic marketing, promotions, and product launches with measurable impact.
  • Shaping product strategy, stocking decisions, and service offerings as part of our annual planning.

What You Bring

We're looking for someone with deep technical insight and strong business instincts—someone who enjoys working directly with customers and influencing outcomes.

Must-Haves:

  • 3–5 years of experience in automation support or controls engineering.
  • Strong technical background in PLCs, HMIs, and industrial networks (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills—able to explain complex topics to both engineers and decision-makers.
  • Organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple customer relationships at once.
  • Proficient with common PC based office tools.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience collaborating with sales and marketing teams on growth strategies.
  • Familiarity with Rockwell Automation's portfolio and vendor communication processes.
  • Comfortable delivering training and leading product demos.
