Product Marketing Associate

Reporting to the Product Marketing Lead, the Product Marketing Associate will support the go-to-market strategy, positioning, and messaging for our market-leading products, OpenApply and SchoolsBuddy, within our admissions and extracurricular suite. This role focuses on crafting compelling, audience-focused content (landing pages, blogs, emails, social media posts) and collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product development, sales, client experience, and demand generation, to drive product awareness, engagement, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have strong copywriting skills, a knack for creating persuasive product narratives and value propositions that address customer pain points, and an interest in SaaS business models, preferably in EdTech (though not required), to connect with educators, school administrators, and decision-makers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Go-to-Market Strategy: Execute the global go-to-market (GTM) strategy for product launches, feature updates, and platform improvements, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and close collaboration with each region.
  • Product Positioning & Messaging: Craft clear, compelling product positioning and messaging that differentiates your products in the market and addresses schools' unique needs.
  • Customer Insights & Persona Development: Conduct market research to gather insights on target audiences, buyer personas, the competitive landscape, and customer needs.
  • Sales Enablement: Collaborate with our Sales Enablement team to help them equip the sales team with tools, collateral, and training to communicate the most compelling value proposition effectively. This includes creating externally facing collateral such as case studies or product brochures.
  • Content Development: Collaborate with branding and product teams to develop thought leadership content, product videos, blog posts, webinars, whitepapers, and product documentation to drive awareness and engagement.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers to understand the roadmap and ensure the market is educated on new features, updates, and product benefits.
  • Performance Tracking: Assist in analysing the performance of marketing campaigns using data-driven insights to optimise content and improve the customer journey.

What are we looking for?

Prior Experience & Requirements:

  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in product marketing, copywriting, or content marketing, ideally within B2B SaaS.
  • Copywriting Skills: Proven ability to craft compelling, clear, and concise product messaging for website landing pages, email campaigns, and other marketing materials.
  • Sales Enablement Support: Experience creating marketing collateral that supports sales teams in communicating product value.
  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to use customer feedback, internal (e.g. NPS) data and external market data to refine messaging and product positioning
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Comfort working with product, sales, customer experience, and marketing teams to ensure consistent and compelling messaging.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for creating persuasive, audience-focused content.

Desirable:

  • Product marketing knowledge, and any experience with successfully launching and marketing a SaaS product, focusing on adoption/revenue metrics, preferably within a multi-product, international environment.
  • Education Sector Interest: Familiarity with or curiosity about the challenges faced by schools, educators, and administrators is a plus.
  • Tech Stack - the following or similar: HubSpot, WordPress, Google Analytics, ClickUp, Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides etc.)
